You would like to be Plotting or Printing? What's the difference? see FAQ 344 same URL.

The Gimp-Print, X-RIP, PS, and built-in OS X are printer-specific drivers used for printing (more on these topics on http://tr.graphisoftus.com/ ).

AC/PlotMaker uses its own HPGL for plotting (for most plotters).

A popular configuration (a quick summary only) for ~Plotting~ used by a significant number of OS X users is:

-HP 500 Plotter
-HPGL2 accessory card
-HP JetDirect device (300X or equivalent)
-HP parallel cable (plotter to JetDirect)
-Ethernet cable (JetDirect to network)

Setup using the TCP/IP protocol:
Configure IP address of JetDirect device based in articles 412, 387 in http://tr.graphisoftus.com/ >>>
FAQ's and input that IP into PlotMaker. Use Port 9100.

"P.S. Hardware note: Plotting has not been confirmed to work with USB; thus only an Ethernet cable connection allows for plotting (via a CAT-5 cable). Additionally, Wi-Fi network devices like Mac Airport cards have been known to cause data loss problems when plots are sent to the network."
