When is AC 10 Release Date

I thought AC 10 was going to be released around the end of February. Any ideas on when the new version will be out, and what capabilities it will have.

Thanks,

Grant

Welcome to the paranoiacs's topic. Nobody here has a serious reseller to talk with?
Our reseller said at a recent user meeting the release was expected in May/June but gave no specific date.
This works in with the 18 month cycle of new versions.
He also said Graphisoft were committed to release V11 in November 2007.
Maybe we can all start speculating about that!

I really can't see why at this stage Graphisoft can't divulge the new features.
Surely it is way too late for them to change anything now?
I guess we will all just have to wait some more.

Kind of contradicts the 12-month cycle promised in the whole subscription thing....

Heh, I don't want to even think of the horrible fate the Graphisoft US guys would have if they don't follow up on their 12-month promise.

[Wait. Or is it because of this that they are all quitting?]

Well, it seems to be available in the German Market from the 2nd week of May.

It's a twelve month agreement for the subscription that includes all upgrades during that period.
Did they actually say there would be an upgrade every 12 months?

Not sure what your subscription is like but out here in AUS it is an initial 2 year period and then becomes annual.
It includes all upgrades during that time but they don't specify when they will be.
Although our re-seller assures me it is an 18 month cycle.

Barry,

Interested to read your experience of the subscription thing. I too thought it looked unbelievable when I saw potentially two major upgrades in the 2 year period! Reading the fine print I saw that you had to join 6mths PRIOR a major release. Given the usual 18mth cycle obviously only one upgrade would then be possible.

Given the forms were backdated to beginning of the year I don't think we'll see it here before July.

Like the somewhat muted release of AC10 I think the marketing needs attention. Overall the subscription package was good but not presented well enough to make a case with my employers...

Robert,
It all comes out equal over a four year period anyway.
Even if there is only one upgrade in the first 2 years up to end of 2007, there will (should?) be 2 upgrades within the following 24 months.
This is assuming the 18 month upgrade cycle is continued.
There is nothing about that in the contract though.

Now that V10 is being released next week, that gives Graphisoft Australia 2 months (nearly) to bring out the Ausie version to keep us hopefully in the 2 upgrade cycle.

We've taken out the subscription because it can be paid monthly and I believe can be claimed straight away as a tax deduction rather than depreciating over 3 years (I'll leave that for the accountants).
Also the dongle insurance was good value, no need to insure them separately.
The 100 hour PPU dongles and free library parts and support are a nice extra - but not essential.

On it's own the subsription (@ 15% of license value) would not be attractive to us.
But as it includes at least 1 (but hopefully 2) upgrades (which on their own are 20% of license value) plus the benefits of the subscription, we thought it was worth it.

Worst case senario we have paid 10% of license value for the subscription if there is one upgrade before the end of 2007.
But then this will right itself over the next 2 years.

Best case we get 2 upgrades plus subscription and it's benefits and save 10% of what it would have cost to upgrade alone.

With 69 licenses the $ soon mount up.

I would be intrested to know how ArchiCAD 10 will be delivered to early subscribers. Download, disk, both ? When?
