Why is my entire selection not changing layers?

Hi there,

I'm confused - when i select numerous objects and I try to change the layer (in the info panel where there is the "layer"dropdown) It only changes the layer to a few, not the entire selection.

Why is this, and how can I fix it please?

Thanks,

Clauds

You are only changing the layer of the elements belonging to the active tool, or to the type of the first element selected in the set. For changing layer (and/or a couple more settings) of several elements of diverse types (walls, beams, objects, text, etc.) use “Edit Selection Set” (Cmd-Opt-t or Cmd-Ctrl-t).

If you are selecting a mixture of walls, slabs roofs, (i.e. different types of elements), you will only see the properties for one of those elements in the info box.

If you change the layer there in the info box, it will affect only that type of element - i.e. all walls, but not slabs and roofs.

To change all elements at once you must use the "Edit Selection Set' option.

This image is from 25 but should be the same in newer versions.
