Revit uses a method of changing the type of wall by dividing the elevation wall with the command split element in the elevation state.
Splitting one wall into two or more walls.

Unfortunately Archicad can't split a wall horizontally.
Copy the wall and paste it on itself.
Change the top height of one wall and the base height of the other wall and re-associate it with the upper storey if you need to.
Or lower the top height of the wall.
Copy it and paste it into the storey above.
Adjust heights if you need to.

To split vertically you just need to use the 'split' tool in plan.
