Is there anyone who can better explain the barrel-vaulted roof tool better that the reference guide. it is so confusing i am totally lost. i have been reading the manual for a while and i justget more confused as i go so i thought i might ask ya'll. thanx

Never had read the manual for "how to draw roofs in AC?".
But have checked [ArchiCAD 9 Reference Guide > Tools > Construction Elements > Roofs] after your post. I found all clear. Maybe you can describe your difficults with that type of roofs explicitly?

What's the problem you are having? Is there a specific step you are not getting correct? Or maybe you could show us a sketch of what you are trying to achieve?

I am not sure where to start the roof drawing.
Do i start with the peak of the roof or the lowest point?
From there do i then go to the same process as the simple roof tool?
Which way does the curve go when you draw the curve for example to the right?

I need the roof to appear like a large bell over the top of a custom cuppala. Does this help?

For Orthodox churches and other elaborate tower caps, you should not use the roof tool. Rotate a profile to create a suitable form.

defiine a path in the + + quadrant - upward and to the right from what the origin of the lement will be.
