concave roof

Are there any improvements to the postings about creating concave roofs? If Graphisoft is giving a barrel vaulted roof option why not concave? Using the shell object is cumbersome since the edges can't be mitred, and all surfaces have the same material, fills don't run the way I want. It would be nice to have something that worked better than my current workarounds. Bill

have you tried the beam tool?

Bill,
If I understand you correctly, you can do what you want with the barrel vault roof. Note in attached that how i drew my half circle before magic-wanding the barrel roof to them determined which way the curve went.

If you want a smooth curve, than create a custom profile as Gary suggested.

If this isn't what you are after, please post a screen shot.

Yes a smooth curve would be great, but I did as you suggested, drew a curve, and magic wanded with the barrel vault roof tool. I set the magic wand settings to 6" segments which end up close enough to my shingle coursing that it works fine. It is a lot of roofs but grouped they are manageable. Thank you gurus near and far. Greetings from woho Bill
