merging or combining plines that are overlapped or end-end

is there a way of merging or combining plines that have overlapped or are simply two plines end to end?
I know in the other 2D program from Autodesk...there was a "join" function that allowed ends of plines to 'join' and become one pline.

Edit/Reshape/UNIFY is the right command. NOT for overlapped ones.

thanks, I'll try that one.....I knew there had to be something...anything by way of making end to end plines merge...

ok, I had two plines end to end on different layers and with different pens, didn't do a darn thing.
I selected both plines, clicked on the "Edit>reshape>unify" function and nothing happened.

For me everithing is OK.
I have 3 plines, each of them on different Layer and with different Pens. I select the Blue, then the Green and last the Red polyline, then pick the "UNIFY" icon and it works. Now I have one polyline with Layer and Pen set by the last selected polyline segment.

What would be the sequence of the steps?
Select first pline.....then what?

1. Select the plines (with window - from left to right; crossing window - from right to left; one by one;....)

2. Pick the icon "Unify"

3. Done

OK, something discovered today. Here's why it wasn't working.
if the pline is "open" ended, meaning the two ends done make a closed looped...then the function UNIFY will work.

If the pline is a closed loop....the function doesn't work, bummer.

So...what i was hoping was that I could grab a bunch of plines...say from a manufacturer like a window sill profile and make it into ONE pline...but since the window sill (as an example) is a closed loop...it won't work....again..bummer.
