merging or combining plines that are overlapped or end-end

is there a way of merging or combining plines that have overlapped or are simply two plines end to end?
I know in the other 2D program from Autodesk...there was a "join" function that allowed ends of plines to 'join' and become one pline.

Try selecting the Polyline tool, and then magic wand the lines that form the closed loop.

Worked for me

So...what i was hoping was that I could grab a bunch of plines...say from a manufacturer like a window sill profile and make it into ONE pline...but since the window sill (as an example) is a closed loop...it won't work....again..bummer.
Yeah, that used to work, but is apparently broken now. Hadn't noticed until now.

Just experimented with two multi-sided polylines. They would not Unify. But, when I exploded them to individual segments (still individual polylines - if you want line use the Linework Consolidation command) they did join to a single multi-sided polyline.

Dear Stuart, the problem you mentioned with unifying closed polylines was a bug in ARCHICAD 18 which has been fixed only in ARCHICAD 19. Thanks, k
