slab/wall overlapping in sections

Every time I rebuild my sections all walls are shown over the slab fills. I'm forced to bring all slabs forward manually. Very annoying when trying to publish sections... Is there any way to avoid this problem???

You might want to try using a SEO to subtract the slabs from the walls - that way there will be no wall in that space to overlap. Plus if you change the size of the slab the opening in the wall will adjust with it.

Hope this helps....

check your element priority settings, if the walls have the default priority then they will always show on top unless you manually change them.

using SEO seems to be a very witty decision

But I don't get it about element priority... I think there's a setting box for walls and columns intersection... but i've never seen anything for wall and slab...

I tried that.... same result as shown in the original problem. Are you just using the Layer Priority? Or changing it somewhere else?

IME it has nothing to do with any kind of priority. The only priority that comes into play are the 3D Intersection priorities in Options>Preferences>Construction Elements, and that has nothing to do with slabs.

Changing the display order or layer's intersection group number will only give temporary results at best. It may appear all good until a rebuild is done.

It's really a matter of getting the model right, by modeling the walls the way they will really be built (around the slab), or by solid element operations.

I totally agree wit Link. Build the model the way it is build in real.
