things that are broken in AC23

linking railing to roof nodes by association removes posts. this is so stupid
columns only show center node if that is selected as the structural point.

how the H*ll do they mess up the basic things that should not be changed??? Im so un impressed with this version. they are luck there isnt something better yet. there will be if they dont pull their heads out of ......

really they should give us all our money back for this release. this is BS

oh and its by far slower than v22. which ive now reverted back too

step it up graphisoft you set expectations now meet them.

modumate is coming for you. they basically have me at this point. pending pricing and if i can unload these licenses im stuck with.

Hi Ghaleb, Thank you for the update it is appreciated.

With regards to the minimal wall height I was taking the simplistic view on a basic shape, in reality with the tools we now have available the wall could have a top of any profile. Personally I think the minimum height should be defined as the lowest point on the wall top profile above the base line but excluding vertical values which drop to the base line. This would allow a vertical step to be considered within the wall length but would exclude the wall ends unless the wall end tapered to zero e.g. anything less than 90 degrees. Anything equal to or greater than 90 degrees forming a concave (under) cut would be excluded. I would also exclude all openings in the assessment otherwise you will inevitably have door openings where the value could be zero. This is my humble opinion, no doubt others may have a more refined view...
Hi,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinion on this topic. I have forwarded your message to the Designers and Developers.
I personally agree with the Minimal Height being the lowest point (in Z coordinate) of the top edge of the wall.
Hopefully this will be addressed soon and we will see it implemented in a future update.

Kind regards,
Ghaleb

First it seemed all to be faster in AC23 but just starting and drawing in 2D in an empty project; now with a single-family house project and detailed planning it got very slow; I need to deliver plans and calculations ... this is a nightmare there must be a huge bug in the program as I use iMAC pro with highest configuration which is 128 GB Ram, Radeon Pro Vega 64 16GB VRAM

When there will be an update with resolving this issues? Or do we all need to wait one more year for AC24 to continue ?!? Should we go back to AC23?!? What is your suggestion?
I'm very sorry for the trouble you are going through! I strongly encourage you to report this to your local support team. What you describe is indeed weird behavior, and I believe it should not act this way.
Nonetheless, due to the nature of the issue you are describing, it is difficult to pinpoint the issue here and now.
Please forward this to the local support team, and if needed, they will forward it to us directly.
Alternatively, you can contact me directly through a PM and I can open a Support Case for this issue.

I sincerely hope we can help you resolve this.

I just tried to do a wall analysis, opening, heights, areas etc. Several of the standard parameters available to the schedule are not being calculated and reporting zero values e.g. Number of holes, minimum heights etc. This was done with a single wall 2m long x 4.5m high containing a 1m x 1m Hole and trimmed by a roof pivoting from 2m up at 45 degrees. One wall is cropped W99C and the other trimmed W99T

Contrary to the information here... https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/65410/ the "Maximum height of the Wall" is reported based on "Trim to roof" but the Minimum is reported incorrectly for single skin walls and as zero for composite or complex walls. Why the requirement for cropping to get accurate values still exists in general parametric design baffles me!

The Gross volume & Gross surface areas of the trimmed wall are reporting incorrectly, apparently based on being trimmed at the upper face of the roof. The Net values are correct. I have checked and the top of the wall is trimmed to the roof soffit based on PBCs.

I would like to do basic take offs for my client but these results aren't reassuring.
Hi,

Both issue are within our database now, and prioritized accordingly.

For future reference, please refer to them as:
GISS-223 (This is for the Empty Openings count being 0)
GISS-276 (This is for the Minimal Height issue)

I would like to thank you once more for reporting this us. We always depend on everyone to let us know of the issues they experience. Once we know about them, we can address them and keep working on making ARCHICAD better!

I wish you a great day!

Hi Rob,

I am extremely sorry about this, and I completely understand your frustration. it is justified, but I promise you that we are doing our best to fix these issues.

Unfortunately, a few bugs slip through and we miss them, but that's when we count the most on everyone else to report any issues they face. We are very grateful for the contribution of the community, and appreciate it immensely! I guarantee you that!

I can't thank you enough for your participation. Also, I can't encourage you enough to report any issue(s) you face. It's a great help for all of us in GRAPHISOFT and for the users ultimately.

I am sorry once more, and I wish a great day and extend my holiday season's greetings!

I've been reading this thread and I have to say, you're a good man Ghaleb.

I don't think you engineers and developers who deal directly with users here get enough credit (or any credit at all), and I think you should. Just as I think this sort of interaction should be encouraged more and more.

I believe this can only be beneficial on both sides of the aisle as on the user side it helps when users feel their concerns are being addressed or that at least they are being heard even if the concerns can't be addressed.
And on your (developer) end useful feedback can only always be a good thing to help you guys deliver a better product.

Graphisoft once use to be known for this strong user-developer interaction but somewhere along the way (sometime in the early-to-mid 2000's) this got lost and everyone suffered for it (IMO).

Just know that this is appreciated.

Keep up the good work, and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you and yours.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We all appreciate it here greatly.. Also, I have forwarded your message to the people involved with ARCHICAD-Talk and it was very well received!

We are always happy to help and it brings us great joy to see it being received positively like this.
I agree greatly that keeping this connection is essential for everyone's benefit on both sides.

We will strive to do our best and stay active on the forums so we can help the biggest amount of people to succeed with their work and to keep a strong connection between GRAPHISOFT and the community as a whole!

I have also noticed AC23 being noticeably slower than AC22. Everything just seems to take that extra second...moving objects around, going from one tab to another

All my drivers are up to date. Anyone have any suggestions?

See guys....it's not "US" the users.....AC23 "IS" slower.
Can someone just provide a 'step-by-step' guide on how to resolve this?

thanks,

I have a problem with text editing, I can't stretch text.

Neither if you want to edit a text by clicking on the text-handles. Your dialog box appears for a split second and then disappears again, making it impossible to scale your text box.

It only appears with new projected created in AC 23. Imported AC 22 files do not have this problem...

Tested on multiple systems, all have to same bug.

Edit: apparently some imported AC 22 projects do experience this problem - but most don't
