linking railing to roof nodes by association removes posts. this is so stupid
columns only show center node if that is selected as the structural point.

how the H*ll do they mess up the basic things that should not be changed??? Im so un impressed with this version. they are luck there isnt something better yet. there will be if they dont pull their heads out of ......

really they should give us all our money back for this release. this is BS

oh and its by far slower than v22. which ive now reverted back too

step it up graphisoft you set expectations now meet them.

modumate is coming for you. they basically have me at this point. pending pricing and if i can unload these licenses im stuck with.

Thank you for your contribution to the forum! I can totally relate to your frustration when it comes to defects and bugs! The good news is that the first update for ARCHICAD is coming soon. At the moment, the Release Preview is available to download already, but it is only available for English versions (AUS, INT, NZE, UKI, and USA):

Since this is a Release Preview, potential issues might arise, therefore I would like to advise installing it if you don't have any business-critical projects ongoing. I myself haven't got any problem with it so far, and I hope this update will address some of the issues that you may have previously with ARCHICAD 23!

Exactly....doesn't HAVE to be a new release.......EVERY year, unless the GS Board Members are so hell bent on getting their bonus' increases that....well...let's not go there.

But in all honesty, I'd prefer to get a new release that DOES NOT have all the bugs AC23 had OOTB vs. a thoughtfully, carefully packed release version.

Just my 2cents but heck, with my opinion and 80cents...you can buy a pack of gum.

The missing centre snap on a Column when the reference axis is not at the centre is a known problem, and is being investigated/fixed.
Most of the Beam/Column improvements in AC23 came from user requests over the years. Aligning the two tools to be more consistent was also a focus in the tools upgrades. As mentioned earlier (by someone), migration is a big component of any new feature/upgrade. To maintain compatibility with older files. Therefore, combining two tools, would actually be a much bigger task.

I will try to make this my last comment on the state of AC23, as AC24 can't be far away....

Let's be clear, Archicad is an amazing piece of software, that's why I have been using it since it was ported to Windows with version 4. I have no doubt it relies on some very talented programmers dealing with some seriously complex geometric issues & shared data handling and it has a dedicated network of support including those making positive contributions to this forum. However, the feeling I get recently is the product development team are increasingly detached from their users and simply focussing on the next big trick. There certainly seems to be a complete feeling of indifference to all the bugs & wishes that I (and others?) have submitted, even those with glaring errors. As I have mentioned elsewhere, the responses are typically along the lines of "It will be fixed at some point when enough people complain". Yes, all software has bugs, but how can this be good for user confidence?

On the aspect of column & beam consolidation, I understand the user mindset wants an appropriately named tool, but the opportunity was there for Graphisoft to consolidate their code and standardise the user interface for users. I hate the fact that we have common settings for the element tools appearing different in each tool and the lack thought as to usability, prime examples being the Display on Storey settings which are inconsistent and the Curtain Wall > Scheme > Height settings which are upside down to the frame display. Whatever happened to "Keep it simple"?

There, I have said my bit. I hope Graphisoft's attitude changes soon to keep its position as the preferred software for architectural design by responding to user need rather than developer wants. As was pointed out to me long ago by a man much respected by his customers - No person or company is ever irreplaceable.
