x & y coordinate switched ?!

I have an old(er) file that I'm working on, it was origrnally drawn in 6.5 by my predecessor and the X and Y coordinates are reversed, as in if I move left-to-right in plan my Y coordinate goes up, and if I move bottom-to-top in plan the X coordinate goes up, this is rather irritating when I'm trying to position things relative to the user origin, and I have to forget everything I've been taught since grammar school maths

any help would be appreciated.

Could the skewed grid have been set with 0degrees up the screen? Is Orthogonal / skewed grid button down?
