Hotlinked dimension positions resetting

hi,

i seem to remember a discussion that touched on this but cannot find:

I've got a facade grid made of lines and hotspots on a single storey which are all then dimensioned. Some of the dimension strings have been dragged to custom locations for readability. Each of these grid stories (it changes up the building) is then published as a .MOD and hotlinked back into the other typical stories.

However once i re-publish the .MOD any dimensions with custom string locations reset to their default location.

I have opened the .MOD itself and the strings are in the correct location. The strings also stay in the correct location when i place a new instance of the hotlink. Its only when I update an existing hotlink instance that the strings reset.

any clues greatly appreciated

Sounds like a bug.

thats what i suspected .. but you never know when there is some obscure 'by design' reasoning behind something

It probably is by design, similar to the way inter-module SEOs reset.

Apparently each module is it's own entity so can't have a relationship with another. Even re-establishing the SEO in the host file won't stick.

Maybe it's the same with dimensions, since they are similarly 'associated'?

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some logis.... err... technical limitation behind it.

Cheers,
Link.

This seems different since it is something that is set within the MOD itself and not applied in the receiving file like the SEOs. The odd bit is that they are fine on first placement but only change in the refresh.

BTW: I haven't run into the SEO reset problem. I assume this is between modules. I have applied SEOs to modules using elements in the receiving file without this problem.
