Openings: their underlying solids are too long

Hello,

I have an anomalous workflow to comply with. In an existing building, we are giving out the openings to the MEP (usually it's the other way around), we modelled them from a survey.

When we export the model as IFC, we are able to switch them on, but they have a huge length, this is deeply wrong.

Is there a trick to limit the length?

Openings in the IFC model (here BIM-Collab Zoom):

Swithing them on:

I am struggling with the same issue. If you create the openings manually you can specify the dimensions and it should work afaik. But for other components you are out of control. This was not always the case and I am curious if there is a way to change this.
