Also, how can I transfer the display options to the new template. I do not want to spend a bunch of time setting everything up again. It seems like it all should be able to be transferred to the new template, otherwise, nobody is going to use it.

I'm trying to set up the new template supplied by GS. I see how I can transfer layers and layer combinations to the new template. However, it looks like the transfered layer combos do not retain their settings of layer on and off, only the names are transferred.

Ahhhhh Tom - you're thinking all backwards mate!

Use Attribute Manager to transfer from the new template into YOUR template!

Cheers,

I don't think there is anything in there that I know to transfer. The instructions for the new template in the AC library update indicated to get best results with the new library to use the new template.
The layer settings, combos, and display options are already set the way I want them in the old template; I wouldn't transfer new ones from the new template.
Also, I believe I did transfer the layers first as indicated in the previous reply. I did save, close, then reopened later between transfers. I wonder if that messed up the process. I'll try the whole process again.

You don't need the new layers and combos, if you don't want them. Or cities. In fact since my templates were based of original US New & Resets, the only thing I imported were the fills & materials!![]()

Cheers,

Like Link (hey, nice alliteration!), I just used Attribute Manager to import the materials & fills.

so how did you get the layering system, layer combos, and display options from your old to the new template, or did you take the new materials and fills to the old template you typically use?
