When I get the 'Element information' of a wall - it has the (close to) correct volume listed under 'Volume (Clean Intersections, Crop to Roof, Door & Window)' - however when I go to the schedule (either a component schedule or element schedule) - the fields I can select from to get data don't come up with the same value. What am I missing?
Thank you!
Element Info:
Element Schedule:
Component Schedule

What does the "Volume (Conditional)" field return in the Schedule?

Volume (Conditional) yields '---'

That does not look right. The Volume (Conditional) parameter should work the following way according to the Help files:
Volume (Conditional) |
Volume of Construction element (Beam, Roof, Shell, Slab, or Wall).
This volume may be conditioned on a defined Calculation Rule. |
Condition: subtracts the volume of any openings that exceed a given size, as defined in Options > Project Preferences > Calculation Rules. Reduced by trims and SEO's. |
So, I think this is a bug, and I will report it to GS HQ.

Thank you - seems like something is off. I did find that there was a beam which intersected the wall in question (hidden on another layer) - once I removed/deleted that beam I was able to get the schedule to populate with the volume shown in the 'element properties'. But it seems like those two numbers (element properties and schedule) should be the same number, at least based on the parameter definition - or am I misunderstanding something?
Thanks so much, really appreciate the help!

So, you are saying that once the Beam was removed, the Volume (Conditional) parameter returned a correct value in both the Element Information Palette and the schedule?

Yes. I guess my question is why would there be a discrepancy between the two to begin with? Shouldn't they be returning the same values since they are being measured by the same things?
Thank you!

Can you show me a screenshot where the Volume (Conditional) in the Element Information Palette and Volume (Conditional) in the Schedule report different values? I agree that they should report the same value, and in your original post, they seem to have reported zero.

Thanks Laszlo.
Not sure I totally follow what you are asking for - don't the screen shots in my original post show that information?
Here's what I currently have:
and Element Schedule (element ID 102)
8.1 cubic feet is the correct volume for this element.
Hope that is of some help! Let me know if I misunderstood.
Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.
