hotlinked file changing location!

Anyone encounter this phenomena? all the hotlinked modules (all coming from the same AC module file, different stories in that file) have shifted their location (moving a couple hundred meters!)
I am suspecting it has something to do with my user origin but can't figure out what triggered it. the file was fine the last time I opened it.

Have the modules themselves been changed in any way?

the module file has entire typical floor plans (each one on a storey) when I re-placed these modules again they "paste" themselves in the right location and everything is fine. after a couple of updates the same problem happened again.

I am wondering should I save the module file as a PLN file and link to that instead? I figured linking to a module file is better since all the materials, line types, etc.. should all take their settings from my parent file (my main PLN that has all the linked modules) but the problem might be in the fact that I am using a module file!

I have just changed my module file into a PLN file and relinked all the floors, they show up in the right location.. after an update I got the same problem!!

so I guess the problem isn't about this file being a module file! any ideas?

there must be a serious bug here, I now linked to two different PLN files. locating them in the right place, after I update all hotlinks, each one of the two linked files moves to a different location!

I had this problem for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The same hotlinked pln stories were being fed to two different but substantially similar site files (and updated fairly simultaneously, etc.). On one of the files I kept having the moving hotlink problem. The source files were obviously OK, no inadvertent dragging the building around there, otherwise I would have had the problem on both files. And it wasn't a problem of sloppy drafting on the destination file either, because just as you describe the things moved a couple of times when updating.

I came to suspect Teamwork was somehow related but couldn't figure out what the problem was.

thanks Ignacio,

I actually just found a thread discussing the same problem,
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=7128&start=0
apparently the Hotfix (Build 2045) should solve this problem. I just updated with (update patch 2172) the hotlinked files didn't revert to their original location but I relinked and replaced them and they seem to be stable and not moving after I update!
I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed they will stay put..
