Hi all,
I have recently started using the Teamwork function and keep running into the issue of spending too much time trying to figure out what needs to be reserved to do various things that I resort to reserving all...
One of these places is in details, where I get a message saying "You must first reserve this viewpoint". That is even after I have reserved the detail, the detail marker and the entire drawing that contains the detail marker... Why is there not simply a button on this message asking if I would like to reserve this viewpoint?
The other is with Transmittals. There is no reserve button, so... but I do not need everything reserved to edit it? I select Reserve All, then do not request any currently reserved items and it lets me edit it. What hidden item am I reserving?
Ling.

Ha, I thought I'm the only one! 😄
I also sometimes wonder what did I miss here?
Also a lot of dialogs do not have the button in bottom so only after you've done changing things you realize woopsie the "OK" button is greyed out...

Yeah, I feel like I need to get into the habit of checking if the "OK" button is active or not before I modify anything in a dialogue...

Hi Ling,
Regarding the Transmittals, you need to reserve the following three:
Out of these three, the Layout book settings is the most important, without that you cannot create Transmittals.
Regarding the your issue with details, the viewpoint is a separate entity from the detail itself, therefore you need to reserve it separately, if you want to edit that. If you are new to Teamwork, or ArchiCAD, it might take some time to get your head around what is what, but I'd say these are important to be familiar with.
Generally I'd agree, it would be nice to have the option to reserve an element after you changed all the settings, or a warning that the element you are trying to edit is not reserved instead of realising the OK button is greyed out.
Hope this helps, let me know.
