License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Animating an Object

Can we animate an object modelled in ArchiCAD? (Like animating a vehicle or a car with all the tyres moving )

Only if the object is scripted that way. What you want to do is almost impossible in ArchiCAD, but fairly straightforward in applications such as 3ds max or Cinema4D.

So if you script your own GDL objects, you can add some functions to react on the current framenumber, but that's about it.

Stefan,
Thanks a lot for your early response. I was really very eager to know if it is possible in ArchiCAD.

I shall keep posting on few more topics in future.

Movement animation is also very easy in Artlantis Studio.

The movement in Archicad has been discussed around here, and involves scripting the object so that it is sensitive to the frame count. Once upon a time, there used to be a free Porsche 911 at Objects On Line, that was scripted for animation - and it is an excellent example of how to do it, too! If you can find it somewhere, that is ...
