Faux Board-on-Board or Board-n-Batten Siding

When every I have project with a Board-on-Board or a vertical batten over Premium grade plywood, I have used the "Siding 04A.jpg" for the Surface Texture. It is from a Sidings folder it a "Textures JPG" folder that I have saved from some old ArchiCAD release. The Fill type is just a Symbolic fill I created and that works fine for vertoral elevatino views.
I am not a Photoshop or Gimp expert or hardly even a user, but I want to be able to have a similar surface texture but a painted option. I recall a discussion of using the Trussmaker option to create a "true" batten of the wall faces, but it can be tedious.
Below is the residence we are creating as-builts for.

You could also use the curtain wall for this...

Set up a grid with best division and a vertical grid that you can align on the windows.

Edit the curtain wall to make openings for the windows....

I wrote this into my wall accessory object.

It will be available soonish.

Do the Curtain wall objects Have To lineup wih the window openings? Because it is not often that they do. Battens are usually 1x3 @ 16"o.c.
