How to render an axonometric view

Hi!
I'm a student and the assignment I'm working on now, is the first one where I can use ArchiCad. I've been drawing by hand until now.
And when I drew the images, I could make an axonometry of my room/house. But how do I do this in ArchiCad?

I want the walls/doors/windows that are closest to me, to be greyed out so we can see everything in the room.
It's supose to be in 1:50

I found a picture on the web wich are pretty close to what I want:

The trick is to put the wireframe wall in a specific layer and select the wireframe display option for the wall (the cube icon drawn with lines) in the Layers Window. fter that you can either render the 3D window or use the save as 3D document option to create the image.

Recommended reading in the Help Files

1. 3D view Options
2. 3D Document
3. Layers

Ah, thanks so much ejrolon
How can I set the angle right? If I manually turn the camera it will ble wrong. Is it any place I can set the angle settings?

And thanks for the recommended reading files!
I will read them all tomorrow

Try one of the pre-sets in 3D Projection Settings. You can adjust the angle with the normal 3D navigation methods, then save the view so you get the same angle next time you want it.

Also, the wireframe method for see-through elements only works in Internal Engine or OpenGL windows, but will be completely invisible in Lightworks renderings.

Thanks s2art!
That worked great

If you were using lightworks to render the image, to get the effect of the semi-transparent wall to the front you could temporarily apply a specially set up low reflecting semi-transparent material just to that wall. Don't forget to change it back before saving!

Ah, thats clever! I'll try that

Yes, one more thing..
I also need my first floor in 2d, seen from abowe. (F2)
But I want it renderd. So I use the Axonometry. (F3)
But is it posible to show all the dimensions in this 3D window?

In the Layout view or Illustrator or Photoshop, overlay your floor plan over your rendered plan.

Ok, thanks
But that is the only way? I'd shure like to print it right from ArchiCad.

Your answer -

As ejrolon says, create two views of the model; a scaled line drawing with the dimensions on, and a not-to-scale rendered view. (This doesn't have to be a 'live' view, it could just be a prerendered image.) Overlay the line drawing over the top of the render in a layout in ArchiCAD itself, and stretch the render to the correct size using the scaled line drawing as a guide. You can then use this to print from, as they will both update together if you make changes.
