Lock 3D vectorial hatching

Hello,
Is there any way to lock the position of a 3D vectorial hatch pattern
relative to the edges of the element that has the hatch pattern asigned
to it's surface ? I have a simple wall with a brick running bond vectorial
hatch pattern on it's surface and that pattern has been aligned with
the vertical edges so that the wall is exactly so many bricks wide.
If I move the wall the hatch pattern no longer aligns with the vertical
edges of the wall. I need some way to lock the pattern so it stays
aligned to the edges of the element.

Hello Link,
On further investigation, I find that you are right. I got some inaccuracy
when centering the wall on the project origin and found that fill pattern
was not exactly centered on the wall. Close but not exactly. I am going
to try in AC 10 and see if it is any different.

After doing a project with custom fills applied to walls I found out that;

1) All fills start aligned from the origin it is not affected by the location of the wall.
2) If you want to realign/override the fill then you use the 'Set Origin'
3) If you did an override it is easier to reset the texture Origin and then do another override than to try to fix the first one.

AC10, AC11 and AC12 all behaved differently, the above is for 12. If I remember correctly, AC10 and 11 assigned the vectorial fill from the object's origin which was determined from the point that it was started from.

We all seem to be getting different results.
in AC 12 when I tried moving the wall with it's center point to align
with the project origin the fill is not exactly centered on the wall as
I mentioned in my last post. I tried the exact same thing in AC 10
and it worked perfectly. The fill pattern is exactly centered on both
the X and Y axis of the project origin and when the wall is moved
to center on the origin the fill pattern is centered exactly within the wall
meaning the fill pattern is symmetric side to side.

This is exactly what I found in AC 10 but in AC 12 there is a slight
mis-alignment relative to the origin.
Yet Link says:
"Even the same (drafting) fill using the same fill as the hatch doesn't line up with the wall's hatch that is centered on the project origin.
And the hatch isn't centered exactly (as per the dims). "

In short, I found that in Ac 10 what you say is true but in AC 12
what Link says is true. Frankly, I like how it works in AC 10.

I tried it in 12 with a custom fill and it works like AC10. No shift.

I'm almost too scared to bring this up again, but what direction did you draw the wall relative to the elevation? Left to right or right to left? Because if the direction changes the hatch, then you're comparing apples to feijoas.

One was right to left and the other left to right. No shifts.

I can verify what Eduardo found. Draw two walls one left to right
the other right to left and there is no shift and if the walls are
drawn one above the other there fill patterns align exactly.
Drag both walls by there center points to align with the project
origin and the fill patterns of both walls still align. This is true
for both AC 12 and AC 10. I also checked if the fill patterns
were symmetric about the the project origin and they are
for both versions. So it seems true that 3D vectorial hatches
are drawn with the fill origin corresponding with the project origin.
This is exactly like a 2D fill pattern drawn "linked to project origin".
When the fill is dragged the pattern shifts within the outside contour.

And does it also stand true for some kind of river rock hatch? Because the fills in Eduardo's example look awfully symmetrical!
