Maxwell Render for Cinema4D R14-R17 3.2.0 ?

Why would there be a Maxwell Render version for Cinema 4D ?
Does Cinema 4D not have a very good rendering engine or something?
I don't get it.

There is a Maxwell version for the same reason (flexibility) that you have a V-Ray version, Brazil, Oxygen, etc. You don't need to use the OOTB rendering engine if you need a special item that can be accomplished easier with the others.
It is the same with any professional 3D Modeling Package.

Just kidding, I know what you mean. Your right. Even if all things were equal, it would still be an advantage to use other rendering engines.
