Anonymous
Not applicable
i called paxar ( victoria office) and they said they only have artlantis for vectorworks and not sure if it is compatible for archicad and so far, no one from that office has called to confirm on that ...(wonder if it has to do with me using ac!!!)

i'm currently using vectorworks and archicad and would like to know if one artlantis installed in the computer can be used for both cad programs.

can anyone help?

using ac7 on xphome

As I recall, the only difference is the box and the cover / first page or so of the user manual. Seems like a waste to have to inventory different packaging, but they didn't ask me.

To be sure, you could phone Abvent's Canada office ... or contact Objects Online.

I bought 4.5 a few weeks ago and that's the way it was. Mac, PC, VectorWorks, ArchiCAD, the magnetic stuff is the same and works for everything, whatever the packaging says.

Remember that the procedure to get a AC file into Artlantis is to save the 3D perpective view as a Artlantis file. In Art then you will be opening a file native to the program so it does not matter what flavor you use.

That is the way it works. From the packaging ('Artlantis for ArchiCAD', 'Artlantis for VectorWorks', 'Mac version', whatever), though, any sensible mind would infer that there may be some code customization going on. That say VectorWorks exports some model features differently than ArchiCAD does, and that the corresponding Artlantis versions handle those accordingly. Well, it does not seem to be like that.

There must be some pricing, or bundling, or distribution, or some other marketing explanation.

The difference between the mac and pc version is the authorization code.

I installed 4.5 on a PC and on a Mac from the same CD using the same authorization code!
