Line weights more visible!

Throughout the program GUI, wherever there is a small box showing pen colour and number, I have to click on the small colored box just to see the line weight attached to the pen. Why can't it be shown for example next to the coloured box? Take a look at the Info Box, there's empty space right next to the pen colour box! My wish: put the line weight info there.

A very useful idea!
I'm with you, guys!

And I want to be able to change the penweight from Info Box too!

Maybe this has been said elsewhere, or perhaps it should have its own thread, but if someone would outline how to create a toggle button for a toolbar (in AC9) to toggle between Hairlines and True lineweights, I'd be very happy!

Thanks,

Thomas

This can only be done via an API add-on. But, the good news is:

The Windows version of a 9.0 add-on (QuickDisplay) to do this and more is ready. This is offered as freeware to the ArchiCAD community in celebration (?!) of my 1,000th post here. To read the documentation and download, go to:

I'm in the process of buying a used Mac from a fellow talker so that I can compile a Mac version. But, it'll be at least a couple of weeks before all of the pieces arrive. I'll announce the Mac version of the add-on when it is ready, Thomas.

Ideally, users of QuickDisplay should map the toggle hairline command to a shortcut key (I use "H" for Hairline). Pressing the key once switches to hairline; pressing again switches to true weight. Seems trivial, but it really speeds work. The add-on also has commands for several other display options.

Hopefully, I'll have the Mac version before too long.

This is for 9.0 only by the way.

Thanks, Randy! Glad you like it.

Since this was off the topic of this particular wish, I've started a new thread for this plug-in here:
