Although I have an official license, the AI Assistant does not work for me. The following message appears:
"Oh no...
You do not have the necessary permissions to use the AI Assistant. Contact your system administrator for more information."
What do I need to enable in the system settings (Win 11) for it to work?

It may seem like a coincidence, or providence, but that's exactly what I wrote above...

Now it becomes even more apparent that the perpetual license users are totally cut off from next/future features and developments:
In their own words:
"Product Roadmap: All About AI Assistant"
Product Roadmap: All About AI Assistant 🌟
So, why should I continue paying the maintenance fee (Forward)?

Thank you for sharing your concerns so openly!
To clarify the wording: when I titled the post “All About AI Assistant”, my aim was to point everyone in this AI-related group to where they can find information about the AI Assistant’s direction in our Product Roadmap, which felt most relevant here in this AI Solutions group. Other improvements for our solutions are also being added, so it’s not just AI-related updates. My apologies if the phrasing was confusing. We are fully committed to enhancing the design experience and supporting smooth collaboration across Graphisoft and sister brands' solutions, with different stakeholders and ecosystem; so it's not only about AI, but a broad range of improvements, innovations. But yes, AI does play a key role in our product strategy.
On the technical side, I’m sincerely sorry if this change feels disappointing. The AI Assistant is a cloud-based service and, by its nature, is only available for subscription users. We understand this is a significant shift.
Thank you, @Roman-PS and everyone, sincerely, for being so open and honest with us, and for contributing to this forum with AI-related ideas and feedback on how it could be most useful for the daily design work.

I have 5 computers, 3 have AC29 installed on them. 1 out of 3 runs the AI assistant. 2 of them are nearly identical M3 mac computers.
I thought maybe it was a VPN issue, but I disconnected the VPN, even tried uninstalling and reinstalling AC29. On the 2 computers that the AI assistant doesn't work on, it will pull up the AI diamond symbol, and clicking on it sometimes gives a slight hiccup, but never pulls up the assistant.
Clearly its something on these 2 computers, and not related to the license; since it works on one of the three with the same license...
It would be really helpful to get this sorted, since I do use all three computers for different clients.

Did you have the Tech Preview (or even a Beta) installed?
Sometimes the pre-release versions can leave strange issues, for me the AI tools had issues and portions of MEP Designer wouldn't install correctly until I cleaned some of the user data folders (this was on a Windows machine, so I also emptied some Windows Registry data).

i agree, except on the part that the next big thing will come from a dorm or some garage nerd. No, it will most likely come from a very well funded but still-unknown-in-occident asian mega company, that will grab whatever is left of the bim market after AI finishes it off. Other than that, the future is bright for all! 🌞

As a reminder in ArchiCAD 27 was the AI Visualizer initially introduced as a plug in feature upgrade for perpetual ArchiCAD customers ?

"Graphisoft recently hot-swapped CEOs, from Huw Roberts to Daniel Csillag. This move to transition from perpetual to subscription comes as Csillag’s first major business impact. " https://aecmag.com/news/graphisoft-pivots-to-subscription-2/
I understoond Huw Roberts has an architectural background... Csillag ?

What do shareholders think of the latest 'major business impact', with NEM.DE down ~30% in a single quarter ?
https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/NEM.DE/
Does the lack of perpetual licensing (equity) and former ability to effectively transfer (sell) such also disincentivize investing in this this highly complex and expensive software that increasingly seems limited to creating captive digital assets - the 'I' in BIM ?

The AI Visaulizer when it was first introduced was available to everyone - even when run through the cloud rather than locally, via downloading the 20GB version.
Initiallly they tried to limit it to only subscription users (or laid out plans to do so in the future), but then briefly eversed that decision when they got pushback, only to now reverse it again.
So the claim that they're limited in the implementation these new technologies (Specifically AI Assistant and Visualizer) that they're introducing to have them be exclusive to only subscription-users, based on how they're implemented onthe backend simply doesn't fly.
As noted and pointed out above by myself and several others, this is a CHOICE by Graphisoft. Not something they've been forced into by technological implementations or whatever they're trying to claim. And to really nail down to it, a marketing related choice.
It's part of a strategy or marketing approach to try and coax (or more pointedly, push) any unwilling perpetual license users into subscription licensing before it becomes mandotary a couple of years from now (And anticipating a good chunk of those perpetual license holders will jump ship then or opt not to switch to subscription as many are now stating they won't) and the only licensing option available , and frankly speaking from a PR perspective it's a slimy move from them given that they know how unpopular this whole strategy and decision is, and how they've handled the whole affair.
It's time people just started calling them out for these things they're doing instead of gently playing footsie with them or around these issues hoping to maintain some sense of professional comity.
And Csillag's background is Engineering, if I'm not mistaken, so that should inform a lot on the direction this program has been taking over the last several versions.*
It's been noted several times that it doesn't seem like many involved in the development these days are actually involved in architecture, or familiar with how architects and designers actually work (the day-to-day nuts and bolts of how we need to get things done),.......at least not anymore.
Some times it helps looking at the top from whence the change in the direction of the prevaliing winds are flowing.
Sorry to be so blunt about all this.
And the funny thing about all this is I'm not even the biggest fan of this whole "AI-(anything)" direction we all seem to be headed down these days (at least no in the way Graphisoft are approaching it in architectural development compare to the likes of Finch or Architectures).
It's just that it's become emblematic of how things are going wrong and continue to go wrong.
(*And by the way, this isn't even to say Huw Roberts' tenure was any sparkling model of excellence in comparison. It's just that this....."rot"....or whatever is regressiing development in this software and this company has been ongoing for a while now, and it seems regardless of who gets put in charge, nothing will likely change that momentum.
With Csillag, I feel they have more "truth in advertising" if you may, in terms of how their long-term strategy aligns with how they seem to be handling it right now and what their vision is)
yesterday
Two hotfixes (29.0.2 now) and two months later, the easiest problem to fix (error message text... no coding!) has not been touched. Clicking on the AI icon (which should not even be visible for a non-cloud license) still produces the original, incorrect error message. We know that this has absolutely nothing to do with permissions and everything to do with cloud licensing... but does the typical user seeing this have a clue? No.
