Automatic Door ID

Am now using V18. Somehow I changed a setting and can;t figure out how to change it back. Doors are being inserted without an ID numbers. Have played around in the Element ID manager with door ID and criteria to no avail. This should be an easy one but it has me stumped.

Thanks

Did you check Document-> Model View Options and check your Renovation settings.

Not quite the problem am describing. Tag shows up fine. But it's empty. There is no automatic ID assigned. I used to be able to place doors or windows one after the other. In the door marker they would start at D01, then consecutively number themselves as I placed them. Can't seem to get it done presently.

Thanks Tom

That is weird, so I'll keep on guessing.

OK, the box is checked, and has been. The doors I have been placing are from favorites palette, which is a relic of V17. These are the doors that don't have an ID in the door tage. However, a new door placed directly from the door tool works fine. Must be some migration glitch. I guess I need to save the new doors back to the favorites.

Thanks for the replies.

Have a look at your Favourite Preference settings - small triangle top-right of the favourites palette.
Have a look to see if the door ID setting is ticked or not.
You will want to turn it on if you want to use automatically generated IDs.
That way the ID saved with the favourite will not be used.
