Autocad Attributes not imported properly

Hi, when import dwg files which contains attributes, the attributes are not translated properly in Archicad.
Instead of the attribute block I get a straight line.

This is happening either in "place external drawing" or in "XREF import".

The attribute I am trying to insert is a level dimension block from a Land Surveyor dwg file which contains also text.
The attribute text size in Archicad also has some matters depending in what scale is the view in Archicad.

About the text importing problems I have posted in a previous post and the same problems applies here also.

Takis.

I prefer to import PDF versions of the DWG which can then be exploded.

Just a thought as you may find it simpler to work with PDF. Depends on what you want to achieve.

Even DWG can be exploded.
I think that an exploded DWG is cleaner than exploded PDF.
When you explode a PDF, fills are exploded into singles lines. When you explode a DWG fills are still fills.

Just tried it out my self.
Made a AutoCAD 2016 drawing containing a block with attributes.
Insert the block, filled in the attributes and saved the drawing.
Imported the drawing into ArchiCAD 19 and it worked just fine.
No problems here.

You are importing the dwg the wrong way.
You have to import the whole dwg file and not just a block with an attribute.
Try importing the dwg file as an external drawing.

Hi, thanks for the video.

It helped me discover that my dwg file which I got from a Land Surveyor, had a "point" in the level dimension block instead of a real block, and that is the reason I couldn't see it properly in Archicad.

Pls find attached an example where in the level dimension block contains a block, a circle with 2 lines and a point.

Thanks for the help.

Ah yes, I see.
Survey points in AutoCAD can contain attributes as well.
Glad I could help.
