Calculate number of bricks in overall walls?

Anonymous
Not applicable
How can I calculate the number of bricks in all walls I have in my project?

I know there has to be some volume, which I can divide with the volume of one brick.
But is there a more sophisticated way to do this?

If it is not, then where can I find the total volume of all walls in my project?

Thank you.

The manufacturer of the bricks has a specification for a bricks quantity/m3 of the wall.
This are my schedules for a composite walls:
1. Wall Type

Thank you for the attachment Andro.

Where should I put these two .xml files? Or how can I open them?

I haven't checked the files but I guess you will have to import them in the Scheme Setup Dialog where you define the settings for your Schedules.

Open one of the available schedules, pick the button "Scheme Settings", then "Import" and select one of mine 2 schedules, press Open.

Thank you for the reply, both of you.

Andro does these .xml files work only for your composite wall?

Because in my case, when I import your files I get only Headings, no numbers data available. What am I doing wrong?

First thing: go to Scheme Settings > Criteria and check the Layer values, when I imported the file both Layer values were MISSING. This worked in AC 15, in AC 12 I got an error message that the XML file is corrupted when trying to import.

Also, you can use the easy to get data from a wall schedule (surface area for example) and export the schedule to Microsoft Excel where that data can be use in formulas to generate the schedules you really want.

Mine schedules were made in AC14. You must pick the button "Scheme Settings", then set the right Layers where your Walls are on.

They are made only for Composite Walls!
