Importing AutoBad 2006 DWG Problems

Recently received DWG files from consultant. 2 of 3 appear to have no data on any layer or story. One is fine. One of the bad files is almost 1MB in size. Consultant resent in 2004 format--same results.
Have used Find & Select, Select All, differing Display Options all to no avail.
Any ideas.

Any 3D solids from ACAD?

Thanks for the help.
Turns out I was importing data from Model Space when should have been translating from Paper Space.
