difficulties with DWG, DXF files

I am having problems with a dwg file that will not come through right. I seems that it puts the layout portion of the dwg on the layout of archicad, But I have having difficulties getting the information from the viewports out so that I can paste it in the archicad floor plan, and I am still not getting al the information that is on the drawing. Does anybody has any susggestions. An the portion that goes into the model (archicad) does not look right either. It creates some funny 1/2 circles instead of what is in the drawing.
Thanks, Virna

Hard to tell without screen shots. Does it work better to just drag-and-drop the dwg on your floor plan (creates an "External Drawing")? (experiment on a copy of your project)

ok here is some more information about the issue:
I am attaching 2 files, one of how this file is supposed to look and one of how it actually look in archicad, I am importing the document from a dxf file. I am going to: open file, translator: 02 for editable import. I have clicked on and off some of the settings but nothing seems to help much.
If you have any ideas please let me know.
I tried the drag and drop and it gives me the same result as the faulty file (not all the lines show and I get some funky arcs sometimes)

Thanks, Virna

Hi virna,
As Thomas pointed out, it's really hard to help you with out seeing an illustration of the problem.
Can you please post a screen dump of your problem or even post the DXF file that you are having problems with?

Cheers.

Ok,
Unfortunately it doesn't show too much. The file would be great.
