Custom Pen Settings

I created a custom pen for some drawings, and it shows fine in the model space (top image) but when I place the drawing on a layout sheet, the pen disappears (bottom image). Any ideas why this is happening?

Select the Drawing.
right click and select settings
look for the Pen Settings option and assign the one you created.
