Dimensioning to "core"

On a set of working drawings, I am dimensioning my framing plans. This is a woodframe residential project. Both my exterior walls and interior walls have a 1/2" drywall finish.

When I display "core only", there is a 1/2" gap between the walls where they intersect. Obviously I want the framers to build these walls next to each other. Why does Archicad leave this gap?

Worst of all, when I dimension tag these walls, I cannot 'snap' to the intersection - my dimension tags are all 1/2" short.

Is there a solution for this?

I assume you are referring to the gap in plan view since the 3D should be cleaning up regardless.

Intersection and clean-up are controlled by the intersection priorities defined in the composite structure settings. You need to make sure that the walls are set to "Enable Skin Priorities". If this doesn't fix it you will need to adjust the settings of the composite structures.

You can set the dimensions to cores as shown below...
