PDF problem with Archicad 18 and yosemite

Hi,

When creating a PDF of a project with a composite structure containing insulation it generates a very heavy and very slow PDF file taking several minutes to display.

If I change the composite structure to a simple wall the problem disappears and the pdf file size is dramatically reduced.

This problem occurs with only a few walls and nothing else on the plan.

Is there a way to reduce the file size of the PDF export?

I use Archicad 18 on an iMac with yosemite.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like your insulation fill pattern either needs simplified or you have a very dense pattern. The denser the pattern the longer it will take to display.

Have you possibly got duplicated patterns overlaid, that would also add to a slow display.

I just found a nice little Blog post by CADImage on reducing published PDF file sizes:

Actually, the blog post says it is for Windows. So my question is: don't you guys on Mac have the same settings you could use?

OK, good, so these tips can be followed on both platforms.
