Publishing pdf's create 0k Files

So I decided to go modern and use publisher to create a set of pdf's for me to send to the printing bureau in AC10. When I select publish the publishing window opens and the secondary processing window opens. When it is done the publishing window says saved and the file size is listed and seems reasonable ie. between 200k and 1meg depending on what is in the file. When I select the file in the finder it is actually 0k and if I try to open it I get a file error. I have quit the program and reopened it and tried opening other files. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'm once again back to plt's.

Yes ..... http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=10981

You should be able to create pdf's .... one-at-a-time with "print".... save as pdf.

Are you getting the same error message I posted?

I'm not sure I'm having the same issue as that topic. In my case publisher thinks it is working fine but I end up with files of zero size. It doesn't matter if I publish one file or multiple files. I have no useable output.

I can print from the dialog box with no problems. However my sets have multiple regulatory sheets that no one wants to see for pricing or construction and I thought that setting up some publisher sets would make the output much easier. But no.

This is going to be a much more difficult thing for me to work out if I am the only person with this problem.

I think my issue is the same as yours.

I'll restate it: I publish a layout book as a pdf file. I get window that shows the files being created (with reasonable sizes). When I try to open the pdf's, I get the error message..... and (after rereading your post and double checking) those same pdfs are zero k.

Then this is the same problem. Is this a universal problem and it is just that no one else uses publisher?

I recall a while back creating some PDF files from PM9, exploring to the files, and finding they were 0kB. Thought "bummer, didn't work", clicked on one anyway and it opened Weirderer and weirderer.

Publishing pdf's from AC9 works fine and as far as I know there is no internal way to publish pdf's from Plotmaker. And as we discussed printing to pdf's through Mac OSX works but is not as automated.

If you uninstall AC10 and then reinstall and do not run the updates, you will be able to publish pdf Files........ even multi-page pdfs.

I'm having trouble deciding if I need/want the updates.

I'd be interested to hear if this works for others.

One (exactly) of my guys had this issue. I could PDF his files without trouble. He is back on 817, where he can publish again.

I see we are all on build 966. Anyone have the courage to run the newest hot fix ( I love THAT euphemism) to see if it might have fixed it? I have a couple of projects going out this week and better the devil you know....
