Removing the DETAIL bubble from layout

Llian

I added the detail bubbles to specific areas on the view map in 1/4" scale...
I placed these specific areas to the individual layout but how do I removed the detail bubble from showing on the layout?

I am in my Layout and where can I select the layer combination?

I think I resolve this...by creating another view map - Layout Floor Plan with layer combination that hide the detail marker....and still able to use the same drawing from view map without having to redraw or create 3D document of the specific area...

Yes you are in the layout but you are showing the settings for the placed drawing.
This does not have any layer control (unless it is a PDF with layers but that is another matter).

This is a drawing of a view that you have placed on your layout.
The layers are controlled in the view settings.

As you have discovered you can save as many views of you plans, sections, elevations, etc., and each saved view can have different layer combinations as well a different scale, pen set, Model View Options, etc.

So essentially you set up the view that you want and simply place that on your layout.
All annotation (text, lines, detail bubbles, are place in the view in the layers you want so you can control their visibility by applying the correct layer combination.

Hi Barry,
I NEVER knew about creating view maps other than using the default in all those years that I have had used AC....since 1994. I was very much stuck in the surface and just didn't dive deep enough to explore and discover the beauty of the ocean floor. Well! it's never too late to discover the power of learning at this point of my career life when I've finally resigned from the corporate world to be on my own where I have the freedom to explore everything I want. Thanks Barry for your response..I am still celebrating this discovery because it is making it so much easier for me to prepare for the next high-rise project!

You might want to take some time out away from project and try the training series, it explains these processes rather well or if you are up for it, get some training from a good tutor.

I learned by 'doing' as well, but some of my co-workers I've had over the years took the course offered here by the reseller and they were so much more efficient after taking the one week out to attend the classes. I sometimes still learn 'basic' tricks during the yearly update course, while working at advanced level after using the software for 10 years.

The Graphisoft training series is available here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Archicad/playlists?shelf_id=1&sort=dd&view=50 you can download the tutorial materials that go with it, by registering a myarchicad account.
