Saved 3D views not updating to current model

We are having a persistent issue across most of our drawings.

Our saved 3D views, for layouts, are not updating to the current model.

For example: We have saved 3D views created from the "Generic Perspective". The view is adjusted to what we want and apply the 3D style we want then save in a separate folder under 3D views.

The client then, for some reason, wants some changes.  The changes were applied.

The "Generic Perspective" view is current with all of the changes, but the Saved 3D view (that we want for our layouts, with specific camera views and 3D style) do not update to the current model. They are missing objects, etc.

We have tried:

- Repair file.

- Rebuild view.

- All layers are on and unlocked.

- All Renovation Filters are on and unlocked.

- There are no "Option" sets.

- There are no Overrides in place.

There has to be something better than totally recreating the view, we want consistency in our plot sets from version to version.

Any thoughts or solutions?

is it a 3D view or a 3D document? cause if it's a document it doesn't auto update.

LE: Ok i noticed by the icons it's not a 3D Document, it's the actual 3D Windows.

Here is the problem i noticed: if you hide some elements in the 3d windows (right click -> hide selection) and you save that view, it remembers what elements to show, not what elements to hide (Graphisoft ...). So if you add new elements, they won't show up.

The fix i rather simple, open the respective view (wont show all your newly added elements), hit f5 (it will refresh), right click -> redefine with current window settings. This will reset the only show x and y objects filter.

If you want stuff hidden in each separate 3D view, it looks like you are out of luck. You either filter using layers or use the earlier described hack again, each time you add elements to a 3d view saved with hidden elements.

Have you opened the drawing settings on the layout and checked if the auto update is enabled??

Thanks for the reply, but that is not the issue.

The source saved view is not updating to the current model.

So, the Layout View will update, but it is just showing the saved view that is not current to the actual current model.

If you created the 3d view with a with a marquee and show show marquee in 3D, here is how i get it updated.

open the 3d view

    open 3D source

have the floor plan view set up as you want and marquee it again and show in 3D

turn off any layers you don't want showing

                         redefine 3D document

here is a video where i updated a footing

Indeed, a simple solution. F5 refresh.

The problem with multiple people working on a file, you aren't aware if people have hidden items.

Is there a way to tell if there are hidden items in a view? Or just F5 when in doubt?

I guess we just assumed the view would go back to its normal state since we didn't redefine in that view.

Thanks for bringing that back up to our attention!

Our issue was with an actual view and not a 3D document, but that is a handy tip that I can see using.

Thanks.
