Views placed on Layout keeps updating

hey all

i have a problem with most views placed on layout and its constant updating.

when i open a layout it start updating all views and this happen twice before i can use the file.

this is happening to certain files so im assuming it has to do with work environment.

on some sheets i have like 15-18 views and this is starting to take some time since it gets updated twice in a row.

please find attached

hey mate,

actually all drawings in this file have this issue not only interior elevations sheet, i dont mind the other sheets updating twice but the interior elevations sheet is the one that takes really long to finish updating (twice) !

not sure whats going on but for some reason all drawings get triggered to update twice every time I click on any sheet.

Is the double updating anything to do with the Trace & Reference being turned on?

I have not noticed this but there would be twice the information to update.

trace & reference is off, and if its on it would be between storeys only .

If it's on it won't matter where it's looking. Everything will update twice if you have trace and ref on in a layout.

trace & ref is turned off everywhere.

this is snippet of 2 Archicad files the left is the one that having the issues.

please note that both have same hotlinks, libraries and from same template.

this snippet was taken literally after i refreshed and opened the drawing manager again.

the one on the left gone back to needs checking, the normal file is showing OK.

now this is driving me crazy lol

Interesting how a couple of details are OK.

Are the drawings linked to internal views or an external source?

They are probably internal - I am just clutching at straws now.

yeah its totally weird and its driving me nuts.

the details are actually details markers but have the hotlink drawings in them so im assuming thats the case ?!

I have had the same (or similar) problem multiple times over the years, across multiple AC versions. Drawings on some layouts would auto-update even if no changes were made to the model, even if I just switched to a different tab and back or to a different program and back. I wasn't able to find the source of this problem until today.

Today I was able to find the cause of the most recent instance of this issue (no idea if this has been the cause of all of them or if this issue can have different causes). On a layout that had this problem, the source view of one of the drawings had a missing penset. Once I reset the penset for that view, the problem ceased. It is enough to have only one drawing with this problem on your layout, that drawing will always automatically update when you open the layout, then after it is done updating, this for some reason triggers an update of all the drawings on the layout (hence why some drawings get updated twice; if all drawings have this issue, then all of them get updated twice).

I had a certain layout in which certain drawings were conctantly updated even after I closed and open the layout.

No chnages. No nothing.

@Bojan Fratina made me start thinking so I checked my pensets and all were OK.

BUT THEN.... I checked my design options and some of them were "Custom".  After setting a certain design Option the drawings stopped updating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess this has to be checked some how by others who are facing the same problem of constant updating.
