ArchiCAD 29 Bug - empty window over working window (object) and negatives

Andreas81ch

Hi Graphisoft,

I tried today ArchiCAD 29 CHE (Swiss edition) for the first tests.

Negative 2; AI tools with USB Dongle licence is not to use 😞

Negative 2; the performance is slow, like the older version AC 26, 27, 28 😞

BUG

I tried to make an object, saved it. Wanted to open > empty field on the screen, always in the foreground.

> I had do close ArchiCAD and reopen the program..... 😞

Seems to be an issue with Tahoe .

But I see your signature says Sequoia.

Is that up to date?

If so it may just be a 29 Mac issue, I have not head of it happening on Windows.

Versions 6.5 to 27

Lenovo Thinkpad - i7-1270P 2.20 GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia T550, Windows 11

Definitly a Tahoe issue. Inadvertantly double-clicking on a menu item seems to trigger it. Quitting and re-opening solves the problem.

Yes, we currently use macOS Sequoia 15.5, not Tahoe.

With every new ArchiCAD version, always problems with macOS system updates (old or new ones....).

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that I’m experiencing the same window issue in Archicad 28 after installing the Hotfix 28.3.1 on my Intel Mac (macOS Tahoe 26.1). I’m getting the same kind of empty, stuck foreground window, and the only way out is to close and reopen Archicad.

Have you managed to fix the problem on your side?
Do you recommend reinstalling the hotfix or rolling back to a previous version?

Thanks!

same here, Only option is to force quit and restart Archicad. Im finding a multiple report coming from mainly AC29 users.

we are on Mac Sequoia 15.7.2

What was your steps, before you saw this empty window?

ArchiCAD v6.5 - 28 (CHE Swiss Edition) - macOS / WIN (Switzerland / Schweiz)

Using Sonoma 14.7.7. - and empty window remains in 28 (after hot fix) and in 29.

Only closing and restarting the program helps.

Using AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB - MacBookPro 2019

Graphisoft please fix this!

EDIT  This post was merged here by moderator.

On occasion, when working , one of the pulldown menus, when hovering across them, will stick as a blank menu. (see attached screenshot) This issue started when working in AC29, but has cropped up now in AC28 as well. As you can see from the screenshots, it obscures what is behind it, but I am still able to navigate it and the other pull-down menus. The biggest issue is that it obscures my tool bars across the top of the screen. While the one screenshot I have included shows the Archicad menu stuck, which doesn't obscure much, the other screenshot, where the Document menu is stuck, it makes working very difficult.

The only action that resolves the problem is restarting Archicad. I have not been able to recreate the problem on demand. At least 4 other people in the office have had this issue. I start my machine fresh every morning. I have a MacBook Pro with an M4 Max and am running AC 28.3.1 (6100). More often than not, I do have 2-3 AC files open and one of those is a different version. This has not happened for a few weeks after moving from 28 to 29, but today it has cropped up. It has happened in both TW and solo files. As I am typing this, I restarted AC28 and it just happened again.

Things I've tried...

- Applying a AC default work environment.

- Resizing the AC window.

- Downgrading our file from AC29 to AC28.

- Minimizing the app and maximizing again.

- Closing other apps.

- Working around it until it becomes frustrating.

- Moving AC to another screen (I have two external monitors and use the laptop monitor simultaneously).

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance...
