He i'm a student from the Netherlands and i wanted to double check if the laptop i want to buy, will run Archicad 14 perfectly...

Dell XPS 15
Intel-core I5-480M (2,66hz , 4 Threads, 3mb cache)
15,6" HD(1366x768) 720p WLED-widescreen with Truelife
6.1444MB 1.333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM (1 x 2.048 + 1 x 4.096)
1GB NVIDIA Geforce 420M GT

i still can upgrade the processer to I5-560M and from 6MB to 8MB RAM

thanks in advance

Here are the hardware requirements for ArchiCAD 14:

http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/system_requirements/

I think you should get a laptop with a larger screen resolution; that 768 vertical pixels is just not enough for all the tools and palettes and the navigator and everything in ArchiCAD.
The vertical resolution should be at least 900, but 1024 is even better.

he thanks for the quick reply. I already looked true the requirements site but i'm such a noob with specs and such! I think the specs of the laptop are good enough for AC14 but i just want to make sure and that's why i posted the question here.. Its a lot of money for a student like me

so do you think the processer, ram and videocard are good enough to run AC14 smooth in 3D?

also why is the screenresolution so important, will it affect how AC14 will run in 3D on my laptop, or is it just the quality of the image i will see?

Look at the attached picture.
That is ArchiCAD 14 at 1024x768 resolution.
Notice that the horizontal status bar at the bottom cannot be drawn correctly because there is not enough vertical room.
With all the toolbars and toolbox and navigator you have very little space left in the middle. You want it as much as possible otherwise you will always have to zoom in and out and pan.

Check this video for GS hardware recommendations:
