Help - Archicad Preferences file is damaged

Gerald Hoffman

I can't start AC 13 as there seems to be a corrupted preferences file. I did a search and found locations to delete these files listed for Windows XP on version 12 but I am using Windows & 64 bit and can't find the same locations. Does anyone know where this file or files are located.

Thanks,
Gerald Hoffman

Alemanda,

I think what I eventually did was uninstall AC13 and delete everything I could find in the Registry, Documents, and Programs folder if there was anything left over after the uninstall. You might have to make hidden files and folders visible in Explorer. It was then OK. I phoned AC tech support and they had me delete some files but it didn't work. Hope this helps you.

On Windows, these are the places where you can find Graphisoft preference files. This in on Vista:

C:\Users\<Username>\Application Data\Graphisoft
C:\Users\<Username>\Graphisoft
C:\Users\<Username>\Local Settings\Graphisoft

Which of the three folders?
I have some TW projects and I don't want to delete important files?
Thanks

Try moving the basic preferences file somewhere else (rather than deleting it) to see if this fixes the problem. You will probably find it somewhere like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD 13.0.0 INT R1\ArchiCAD Basic.prf

You can delete the moved file if the problem is solved.

Did you try the fix I suggested in my previous post?
