For a new user about to start a course that requires use of Archicad, is Microsoft or apple laptop better ? Does apple still have problems ? Any suggestions on best for price at mid range spec requirements ?
Many thanks for any help

Which operating system are you more comfortable working with, Microsoft or Apple?
I would stick with what you know.
Apart from the keyboard (CTRL, ALT on Windows / command, option ? on MAC). Archicad works basically the same.

Also consider what other software you might be needing or wanting to use.

Hi Barry
Thanks for info. I prefer Apple but I hear it may have previously been a problem or may still be a problem if I want to later do more advanced projects. Is this not the case anymore ?

Apple or Microsoft shouldn't really matter if the machine is decent.
I have never used Apple myself, so I have no idea what is good or not.
There have been many posts here with people asking what are the best machine specs.
I hear the new Apple machines are pretty good, but it all comes down to what you can afford.

From the reports here, there have been some short lived issues when there is a major OSX update which you can just delay updating to, but other than that, as long as you can use one of the releases around the time of your AC release it seems to be fine.
