anyone else notice, if you walk away from your computer for an hour or two, particularly on mac when it tries to 'go to sleep', it tries to shut down archicad? I've also left ac open over night (yeah, I know thats bad, and I don't take my own advice on this and so many other things) to find that ac is closed the following morning, with no bug report or crash recovery...

So, do you consider this a bug?
Should macOS not be able to shut down Archicad? When it shuts it down, is there work or data lost the next morning? (If you did not save before leaving Archicad.) Is there an Autosave available next morning?

it's definitely a combination of bug + user error.
Obviously, there is no reason or excuse to leave a file open over night; and even worse, forgetting to save before calling it quits for the day. This is all user error.
And I'm not sure if the OS shutting down Archicad when it 'goes to sleep' is a software feature or bug; but it seems like it shouldn't try to quit archicad.
...
I have seen lost work when shutting down for the day and not saving/closing. That is easily mitigated by simply saving and closing... but I'm only perfect when I direct/criticize/train other people's workflow & protocols; I fall short when in practice on my own 😉

The only times macOS will try to shut down a file are:
Almost all mac software autosaves their state so the system can do any necessary automatic tasks.
Guess to which group AC belongs to…

I usually close all files before I hibernate my (Windows) PC, but there are times when I've forgotten and left it open overnight. I haven't seen anything adverse so far. macOS issue?

@Eduardo Rolon maybe it is a memory issue... I have 128GB physical memory, and typically have 75+GB free. But I have seen Cineware eating up massive memory caches (even though I never use cinerender). I think I posted about this years ago when my older macs were routinely running out of memory with only a few AC files open, a nd I'd see Cinware taking up 5-10x more memory than Archicad. Doesn't look like its that bad on my compy now:

This one is a mac only issue and I don't think GS can do much about it because of TW.

this happens more on .pln files than on t/w files; at least when I deal with it.

I have not seen the logout but have experienced the situation where I find AC has crashed after waking my MacBook Pro (M1 Max) from sleep. It may also take a change of network to trigger since I usually discover it after taking my computer home from the office.

I am not shutting my computer down, just putting it to sleep, then waking it back up. If this works fine 9 times then it crashes the 10th, that's a bug. If putting my computer to sleep only affects Archicad, that's a bug.
Given how long it takes AC29 to open projects, especially TW projects, quitting Archicad every time I'm done woking is huge time-suck. And sleep should work. It's a normal computer thing.

exactly that!
