architectural fonts ( sorry kinda laimen i know)

Can somebody tell me where to go to get good architectural style fonts. I downloaded one and it either is not able to read it or the font just bites. I am a new user to the program and am trying to get a uniform, organized method to all this madness.
Thanks.

Remember that if you share your files with other users they have to have a copy of your font. That is why I keep using Arial for my CD's, since everybody has it (mac+win).

Hey Dfish

I spent countless hours combing Google for something "architectural" looking. On the other hand the look of your work in the end, is up to you and your aversion to CADD looking output is something I can relate to. In retrospect I might have been better off to just purchase them...........[objectsonline, 3Dfusion,etc.]

Are the folders associated with the free arhitext font only available in the US version as my our version (Aus) seems to be very limited in that respect.

How fair ... the cheapest license and the most addons.

How does one go about "installing" these ArchiCAD Architectural Vector fonts so that Archicad shows these as the choices for text, dims, etc ?? Or is this only for replacing fonts in Plotmaker ?

When I tried to copy them to the Windows font folder I got an error message that they were unacceptable.

The Architectural font I like best is from SoftPlan. It's called SPHAND. Download some demos of different CAD software and you will get lots of fonts.

Also, try this site it has some good ones, including MrHand.
