This object is like a paper in the floor plan
You select a default paper size (A0 A1 A2 A3 A4) or the custom (you can then type your own paper size) choose the print scale, the margins of the paper and the pen of the frame.
Use the marque tool to choose the outer frame or the inner frame and print
(if your printer already have margins you better choose the inner frame)
You can also use it just to see what kind of paper you will need depending on the print scale
Hope some people like to use it, so here it is

Feel free to change the object

Editing in PM is nice for little tweaks, but I would never recommend it for serious productioni use pmk's only...and i already learned a terrible lesson...never edit pmks!!! just go to ac, edit what u need to edit and publish again...no problems

Never edit in plotmaker.
Anytime that you re-publish from Archicad you will need to go and make all those changes again in Plotmaker.
But if you fix it up in Archicad and then re-publish all is perfect.
I prefer the PMK approach rather than linking the PLN directly seeing as this is what I have always been used to since version 6.5 and I don't like the problems I keep hearing about Background Archicad.
One day I might try linking the PLN though.
Barry.

'Trust me, I've got 25 people here doing it all day long'
Tom I've got 6 people who are very fed up, because there is no concensus on the best way to link views into Plotmaker! Every time somebody new starts in our office, I am uncertain what to tell them. Especially when BC Archicad reports an error. Typically the reaction is disbelief! ("But it's so easy in Autocad!")

Sounds good - anybody know when AC10 is coming out?
Miker - have at look at the thread 'Is plotmaker worth all of this trouble?' under 'Working in Archicad' (last contribution Jan 03). I suggested (slightly tongue in cheek) plotting directly from Archicad. Interesting that you do this - I'm going to try your clever object - if only to anticipate the 'fit' in plotmaker.

Hmm ... doesn't that tell you something?

I just had a user quit and go to an AutoCAD company. It's only been 3 days, and she called to tell me how much she missed Plotmaker....

Althought PlotMaker is far from perfect, not bothering to learn it does not entitle you to complain.

1-Do all the edit work in AC
2-Publish PMK's
3-Import those PMK's in PM
4-DON'T TOUCH THE PMK'S IN PM

Though you should concentrate on linking live views as opposed to PMKs, if you want to be abreast of the development.
The editing work in PlotMaker is on the Master template.
