Hi everyone,
When I searched for an object in Archicad 27, it was also searching in the bim components portal and showing me the results, when I do the same search for Archicad 28, I don't get any results. Has there been a change in this feature in Archicad 28 or is there something I am missing?
Btw in both images, the search option on the bim components portal is active.

It is working fine for me.
In 28 it is not a tick box option as you have shown in your image (that was probably 27)
It I now a button so make sure it has the blue box around it to say it is active.
Can you access the BIMComponents website directly with the link at the bottom of the dialogue?
Barry.

I just tried this and I can confirm that it does not work for me either in Ac28. I made sure that the "Search BIM Components Portal" option is enabled, yet, when I Search, the Object Settings Dialog only displays results found in the Active Library and in Favorites. I will report this to GS HQ.

Strange.
I just tried again and it is working for me.
Takes about 30 seconds, but it does show the BIMComponents objects.
Can you access the BIMComponents website from the link at the bottom?

No, it still does not work. Also, no link appears for me at the bottom. And I just installed Ac28.0.2 so I am on the latest Hotfix.

I am also 28.0.2
That link doesn't show for me either until I do the search and the results pop up.
Maybe there is something on your system blocking the BIMComponents web site from inside Archicad.
But I can't think what that would be.
Can you access this direct link (I am sure you can) ? ...

Yes, I can visit the site and see the search result.
Anyway, I will forward this to GS HQ and let them sort it out.

Hi, any response from GS HQ?
I have been trying since I had this problem and sometimes it finds everything in bim components and sometimes it finds nothing. When I tried again yesterday, it again could not find any library objects, when I dragged an object into archicad by logging into bimcomponents.com via google, it worked, but it takes a serious time like 10-15 minutes to load.

I have forwarded it to them, but I normally do not get feedback on the status of the issue. There are lots of issues reported from many sources and they decide what to work on. Usually, when a new Hotfix or Update comes out, we see whether a specific issue was addressed or not.

An inconsistent connection makes me think it is a networking issue such as a shoddy DNS, though that sort of thing would usually impact all connections, not just those from a given program version...
