Curved ceiling

Hi.

I’m a long time ArchiCad user but I can’t find a good solution for these two dilemmas:

A)
A curved ceiling made up out of thin wooden beams (image).
The problem is not to model this, but how to effectively change the curvature during design phase without having to model it over and over again. I’m aware that a Rhino-Grasshopper connection could solve this parametrically (a controlling spline and all the beams perpendicular to this) but is a similar solution possible within ArchiCad?

B)
I have been looking in-and-out of the web for a north-arrow/3D-sun object that shows the angle of the sun as a line in 3D based on the global sun-settings. Does anybody know of such an object or add-on?

All comments greatly appreciated.

Yes, exactly. But not zig-zagging/overlapping.

The longitudinal are probably easier to 3D-model, but a lot more difficult to actually build
You people for Norweeja make the coolest wood stuff.

you can adjust morphs individually or in groups like this too

I got this nice reply from the ArchiRadar guys.

You can use this little trick. Buy one of our railing (https://www.archiradar.it/it/oggetti/oggetti-in-vendita-archicad-artlantis/category/view/31.html).
Then add in then Editing Hotspot the value 2,345 cm (0,02345 in meter). You will have the possibility to rotate the railing in the space in the axis x and y.
Add 90 degree in the Rot x rotation and you will have a railing editable in section.
Then modify the distance from post and hide panel, cable and base of the railing.
You are the only one to know this trick.

Click it 😉 It's actually a small walk through.

Also you can use the curtain wall tool to do something similar to that.

This let me set the size of the "wood" to anything I need, and I can also change the curvature segments anytime I want.

To do this just go to a section or elevation view and draw the curtain wall with the chained polyline method.

Look at that! Very nice.

I will try this method as well. Thank you!

Using a curtain wall seems to work nicely. However there seems to be some trouble at the points where the curves end.
