Hi, I use archicad for create clothes store, and every time, I can't find the dummy GSM (actualy I`m using the man present in the archicad library with generic material and white color, but the effect is not so good...). Someone can help me?
You will need to download the free 3Ds importer for ArchiCAD (via the Help > Goodies menu - which brings up a Graphisoft web page) to import 3DS files.
Im sorry to sound like such a clueless person on here - but ive just loaded archicad on my machine (after using Autocad for so long) and really need help in building a gdl library...
i dont know how to use these gsm objects - what do i have to do be able to open them in Archicad (even if you can recommend a site that explains it, would be great!) i've been looking at archibase for these objects. cheers
You would understand placing objects using the Object tool - the little chair symbol on the tool palette - explore the object library through this tool. There are already many objects in the Archicad Library supplied with the software. Study them first, especially the idea of "parametric."
As for using objects from other sites, you download them, put them in a folder and use Archicad's Library Manager to add them to the Library - a database management issue. Most really good objects are polygon-heavy and in 3Ds format. To import these, you'll need to download and install an Add-On, 3D Studio In, a "Goodie" from here:
