How do import LCF or DWG files in to my drawings?

Ok, so I'm new in the archicad world, and I've got a couple of dwg and LCF objects I want to put in my drawings, but I have no idea of how to get them there. I just have them saved in my normal hard drive, not in an archicad library, can anyone help me please?

There are a couple of ways to bring in a DWG file.
Probably the best is to use the 'Drawing' tool.
Select it and then click on your plan (2D) window.
Now browse for the file - you may have to change the file type to DWG.

The LCF is a Library Container File that contains many objects.
You must load this via the Library Manager (ADD button).
Once loaded then you can go to the object tool (or door/window/stair/railing tools depending on what objects are in the LCF) to choose the objects.

Hi,

I am having problems with the LCF import, I add the with Library Manager, but what then? They don't appear in my object library

LCF = library container file

In other words, think of it as a zipped folder containing library parts.

If you don't see any objects, the library might contain other library parts such as doors, windows or even surfaces.
