loaded libraries, missing library parts

we have updated our template to the .libpacks... a kid at the firm saved a .pln to his desktop, worked on it over the weekend, and uploaded it to the server this morning.

all library packs are loaded to the library manager, but content from the local version of them to the server version does not translate through. anything I'm missing?
(I swear these library packs have been nothing but trouble. I love that we have the INT doors and windows now, but it hardly seems worth it for all the headaches this 'transition' has caused!)

flat skylight placed in pln, missing in teamwork file

flat skylight is definitely in the loaded libraries

library manager example: objects missing from Plumbing fixtures and bathroom.libpack - plumbing fixtures and bathroom.libpack is in the library manager and not reporting 0mb.

I also verified this was not a one off local data corruption. The designer who reported this, I had him clear his local data and re-join. I joined the file, and see an identical set of missing library parts.

This has happened to me when i open old pln (say pln from archicad 28) when i'm using archicad 29. Is it possible that someone is using older version? Or maybe different license (non-comercial...)?

It's been 2 weeks and I'm sure the file is gone and you're on to other things, Patrick.

My thought on tracking down this bizarre behavior is to check the UID of the placed objects that report as 'missing'... my hunch is that a library update might have been applied which changed the UID, and even though it should match by name if the UID can't be found in the loaded libraries (at least from what I recall) - it obviously isn't doing that.

Here is a screenshot of a placed "Skylight Flat Panel" from the latest library update, with the Element Info palette showing the Unique ID for that skylight object.  After that, is a screenshot of the same file, after saving with all libraries purged, and the "dot" representing the missing skylight selected...and the Element Info palette showing that, as expected, the UID of the placed object, missing or not, is the same.  I'd be curious what the UID is in the staff member's PLN vs as you see it after re-joining and placing the same-named object from your loaded library, although at this late date, it's probably impossible to do that unless you archived those files...

Cheers,
Karl

Make sure that everyone has the same library pack updates.

I am not sure how this works with BIMcloud as I don't use it.

There was an issue early in 28 where the library packs were updated.

If someone using the file with library update two saved a file and someone with only library update one opened the file, objects would be missing.

I think this was mainly doors and windows but may affect other objects.
